Happy New Year!
Happy New Year everyone!
As this 2007 year commences, I am certainly at a crossroads of life. 2006 was a very up and down year and I hope that 2007 proves to be a bit less emotional. I typically don't do New Year's resolutions, but I thought it would be good to set a few goals for the year to shoot for.

- Finish support raising by ~Jan. 31
- Read more of the Old Testament (I have only read Genesis, Exodus and a little bit of Isaiah and Psalms)
- Apply what I've learned about myself to benefit everyone
- Open my heart/mind to God's will for my life - both to the possibility of staying on the field for a long time, or returning to the US to do God's work here.
- Be a more "agape" loving Christian even when circumstances are hard
- Set an example for others of what it means to live for Christ, love others and admit to sins/weaknesses

hey Jimmy, I to hope that I will be able to raise most of my support by January 31st, so I will definetely be praying for you. In regards to being a more "Agape" loving Christian, I completely understand where you are coming from. When non-Christians are asked what a Christian is, they usually say someone who is anti-homosexuality, anti-abortion, Republican, etc. But we never hear someone say, Loving, merciful, feeds the hungry, extends grace to others. Those are things that we should be known by, yet we aren't. Don't get me wrong, I've been doing a bad job of having those characteristics, but hey it's a new year, new beginnings. I to pray that God will also teach me to love others, especially those people that I don't feel like loving. That's one of my biggest prayers to God as this new year starts, to teach me to love, and to teach me to be more like Jesus. I have decided that for the next few months I'm going to study the gospels and really focus on who Jesus was. What he stood for, what he commanded us to do. I want to be more like him and to learn from him. anyways I'll be praying for you.

My vote is for 1st and 2nd Kings. They're my favorite at the moment. Blessings!
